Part 2: Where Kaigen is dragged off by Ayechela to 'discuss' his retirement, and where Corrine displays signs of bitterness.

She then goes off to the Captain's office, and then back to the square in search of Kaigen.

-look-
Serian Center Square
The stones are of different colors, ranging from deep browns to rusty
oranges, and have been placed in squares along the ground. Green grass
grows between the spaces of the square blocks. The rare flower also can be
seen growing wildly along the ground, being a bright yellow or purple in
color. This wide field consists of lush green grass, and different colored
stones. Along the edges of the wide courtyard making up the Serian Square,
tall statues made of the past and former rulers of the city can be seen,
sentient as if they were like guardians.

[Exits: north east south west]
A small map with a leather cord tied about it has been left here.
A pristine white marble fountain is here, decorated with small child water-bearers.
A bench made of wood and wrought iron sits here, with intricate carvings in the wood.
A small white dove is here, quietly cooing.
A young siri with golden hair roams through the city selling fresh flowers.
Adrian is here.
(Translucent) a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair is here.
A wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes is here, floating in the air.
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls is here.
Yshil, The Shadow, Magus of the Triage is here.
Jelann is here, floating in the air.
Kaigen, Sage Ecclesiast of the Sands is here.

Adrian says something to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in an unknown tongue, in a clear, articulate baritone, that you cannot understand.
Adrian says something to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in an unknown tongue, in a clear, articulate baritone, that you cannot understand.

Corrine leans towards Kaigen's ear, frowning slightly.

Yshil says in common, blinking, ''Eh? What happened to Kyel?'

You whisper in common to Kaigen, every syllable a dreamy melody, '...was someone just here that shouldnt've been here?'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says something to Adrian in an unknown tongue, stiffening slightly, that you cannot understand.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says to Adrian in common, sounding a little troubled, 'What would you have us do? He has haunted my steps these past months.'

Jelann looks at a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair worriedly.
Jelann says to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'What happened to Kyel?'

Adrian whispers in a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair's ear.
Adrian shrugs.

Kaigen says to you in common, jumping a little, 'Hmm? Oh, I don't know. I feel I may have stepped out of my head for a moment.'

Adrian says something in an unknown tongue, in a clear, articulate baritone, that you cannot understand.

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair blinks, looking over to Jelann. She shakes her head slightly.

Jelann looks at Adrian, then a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair, then sighs slightly.

You say to Kaigen in common, sighing quietly as she takes his hand, '...that's okay. Don't worry about it.'

a wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes says in common, in a lightened, faint voice, 'Well.. I am walking away. Does anything need anything from me?'

Corrine bites on her lip as she glances aside, worry etched within her eyes.

You think in common '...it's getting worse.'

Jelann says to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, in a barely audible whisper, '... Is he alright?'

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to Adrian in an unknown tongue, in a polished Serian accent devoid of harsh consonants, that you cannot understand.

Kaigen whispers in common to you, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Did you see someone?'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says something to Jelann in an unknown tongue, seeming to remember herself, that you cannot understand.

Adrian says something to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in an unknown tongue, in a clear, articulate baritone, that you cannot understand.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to Adrian in an unknown tongue, in a polished Serian accent devoid of harsh consonants, that you cannot understand.

Adrian mutters something irritably to himself.

A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls glances at Adrian sceptically, emitting an irate noise.

Jelann says something to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in an unknown tongue, in a barely audible whisper, that you cannot understand.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to a wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes in an unknown tongue, enquiringly, that you cannot understand.
a wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes says in common, in a lightened, faint voice, 'Certainly.'

Corrine turns, frowning as she regards Kaigen with something like anxiety within her eyes.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to Kaigen in an unknown tongue, in a polished Serian accent devoid of harsh consonants, that you cannot understand.

Adrian crosses his arms over his chest, lapsing into silence.

You whisper in common to Kaigen, softly, '...apparently -everyone- saw someone who wasn't supposed to be here, but I don't know.'

Kaigen says to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'But of course, My Queen.'

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says to Kaigen in common, in way of explanation, 'Just to quickly sort out this question of the Triage.'
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls casts Adrian a troubled glance before she leaves, accompanied by a small smile.

A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls leaves east.
A wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes leaves east.
Kaigen leaves east.

You peer intently east.
a Serian Peacekeeper, not far east.

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair shoots an amused look eastward.

You say in common, grimly, 'Oh, great. Looks like -he- won't be coming home again, tonight.'

Adrian says something to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in an unknown tongue, in a clear, articulate baritone, that you cannot understand.
Adrian smiles thinly at a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair, turning to you.

Jelann looks around and frowns at Adrian.

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says something to Adrian in an unknown tongue, idly, that you cannot understand.

Corrine crosses her arms as she scowls towards the east, biting down hard upon her lower lip.

Adrian says to you in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'Aye doesn't t ake long. She'll chew him up, spit him out, and it won't take too long.'

You say to Adrian in common, grimly, 'He should've been spat out LONG ago. He's -ancient-; how much more does Seria want to suck from him?'

Adrian says to you in common, shrugging, 'He deserves a pension at this point, if nothing else. But what can I do?'
Adrian says in common, holding his hands up, 'I just sleep with the girl. I've got no control over her.'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says to you in common, after a pause, 'Not that it's really any of my business, but if he's willing--? Lerayas can't really be deprived of another willing hand.'

Corrine winces slightly, turning aside as she takes several deep breaths, as though attempting to quell a tempest.

Adrian says to you in common, brightly, 'You could always serve alongside him. I'm sure I could pull a few stirngs..'
Adrian says to you in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'Get you assigned as his assistant or something. Or him as yours.'
Adrian says to you in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'You'd be together more, at least.'

You say in common, somewhat stiffly, 'Yes. Lerayas cannot be deprived of another willing hand, while his wife and son are left to their own devices. Just-absolutely-perfect.'
Corrine slants a glance towards Adrian, sighing, as she shakes her head, straightening.

Jelann says to you in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'She said, "If he's willing", miss.'

Adrian says to you in common, amused, 'Corrine, you know as well as I do that Kaigen spends far more time with his head in the clouds than against the desk.'

You say to Adrian in common, her tone quieter, now, 'I'm sorry; that didn't come out how it was supposed to. But no, I couldn't. Eidan needs -one- of his parents, at least.'

Adrian says to Jelann in common, frowning, 'What'd you say?'

Jelann says to Adrian in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'Miss Sei said, "If he's willing".'

Adrian says to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, still frowning, 'Could you speak up a little b it?'

Jelann takes a deep breath.

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair glances between Adrian and you, giving a slight shrug after a moment.

Jelann says to Adrian in common, in a loud tone by her standards, 'I said, "Miss Sei said "If he's willing"", so she didn't say they would force him to stay!'
Jelann blushes and settles down.

Corrine exhales heavily, shaking her head as she gathers her hair into a loose bun at the nape of her neck, then turns to glare towards the east once more.

Adrian says to Jelann in common, nodding, 'Ah. You should speak louder.'

Jelann says to Adrian in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'I'm sorry.'

Adrian says to Jelann in common, loudly, 'What?'

You think in common 'I swear, sweet mother of Merle; if they keep this up, I'm going to just--'

Jelann says to Adrian in common, in a louder tone, 'I'm sorry.'
Jelann sighs again.

You think in common '--skin something while it's still alive.'

Adrian says in common, smiling, 'Ah.'
Adrian says to you in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'I can go spy on them, if you like.'

someone says in common, in a serian voice, laced with siriyu accent, 'Or I could...'
Yshil fades back into existence.

Adrian says to Yshil in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'You're better at it than I am, I guess'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says to Yshil in common, amused, 'They'll hear the door.'

Adrian gets a box of pale blue glass from a simple satchel, crafted of shining crimson dragon scales.

You say to Adrian in common, muttering darkly, 'There's no need for that. To be honest, I just want to bash his head in with something heavy; only that'd constitute -murder-, and that'd make me a widow.'

Yshil says in common, in a serian voice, laced with siriyu accent, 'Ah, forgot about the door...'

Adrian says to you in common, cheerily, 'It wouldn't take anything heavy. His head is old and soft. Like a melon.'

Yshil says to you in common, in a serian voice, laced with siriyu accent, 'I suggest pushing him down a flight of stairs...'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says to Adrian in common, curiously, 'What is it?'

Adrian opens a box of pale blue glass.

You say to Adrian in common, flatly, 'I like you, Adrian, but until you start sleeping with Kaigen, you can't insult him the way I do.'

Adrian gets a small blue frog covered in bright orange spots from a box of pale blue glass.
Adrian says to you in common, brightly, 'Until?'
Adrian winks cheekily at you.

You say to Adrian in common, blinking, '...you're not seriously -considering- it?!'

Adrian says to you in common, flatly, 'I'm not.'

Jelann laughs joyously.

You say to Adrian in common, snickering slightly, '...good. I was going to fight you for him.'

Yshil looks at you.
Yshil looks at Adrian.

Yshil says in common, in a serian voice, laced with siriyu accent, 'He'd win.'

Adrian says to you in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'He's right, you know. I'm very dangerous.'
Adrian manages to keep a straight face.

Corrine places a finger to her lips as she turns to Yshil, then returns her gaze to Adrian.

Adrian eyes you.

You say to Adrian in common, simply, 'At this point in time, just about as dangerous as a goldfish. Then again, -could- you bring yourself to attack the elderly? I -am-, after all, fourty nine.'
You say in common, flexing fingers, '...plus, plus.'

Adrian says to you in common, shaking his head, 'No, no, I wouldn't challenge you for Kaigen. Don't worry.'

You say to Adrian in common, shrugging, 'It was a good postulation. I was about to threaten going after -your- woman.'

Adrian says to you in common, grinning, 'Aye can take care of herself.'

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair coughs into her sleeve, vainly trying to mask a laugh.

Adrian pokes a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair with a white staff of protection.

You say to Adrian in common, mildly, 'I meant, going -after- her, in quite a different sense, Adrian.'

a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair says to Adrian in common, whapping away the staff and glaring, 'I have sharp things.'

Adrian says to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'Your tongue doesn't count.'
Adrian winks at a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair.
Adrian says to you in common, nodding, 'And yes, I know.'

You say to Adrian in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, 'Ah, yes. Then all's well.'

A Serian Peacekeeper writhes in agony as plague sores erupt from his skin.

Yshil says in common, in a serian voice, laced with siriyu accent, 'Aww...'

Jelann utters the words, 'fidscamdi eugaega'.
A Serian Peacekeeper looks relieved as his sores vanish.
Jelann frowns unhappily.

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair looks at a Serian Peacekeeper.

Adrian looks all around.

A tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair frowns, sliding down from the fountain.

Jelann says to a Serian Peacekeeper in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'Are you quite alright? What happened to you?'

Adrian puts a small blue frog covered in bright orange spots in a box of pale blue glass.
Adrian closes a box of pale blue glass.
Adrian puts a box of pale blue glass in a simple satchel, crafted of shining crimson dragon scales.

Corrine sighs, rubbing at the back of her head as she glances impatiently towards the east again.

Jelann says in common, in a barely audible whisper, 'I hope there isn't an outbreak already...'

Adrian beckons for you to follow him.

(*Off to the Captain’s Office*)

The Captains Office
This is a tidy office built into the very wall of Seria itself, the
smooth stone walls let in no parts of the outside world. Having no windows,
and very little decoration, this appears to be more room for practical use
than anything else. Light fills the room from a solitary lantern, hanging
from the center of the chamber. A oak desk has been pushed into one corner,
its top covered in scrolls and messages. A large set of keys hang from a
steel peg pounded into the wall. A lone potted plant grows very little with
dingy green leaves hanging from it. Small piles of dirt sit in the corners
of the room from half-hearted attempts to keep things neat. A bookshelf
leans against the wall holding books and records the Captain keeps on
various aspects of his and his men's duties. A door to the east leads back
onto the street. The briefing room is north and a hallway leads west into
the Captain's private quarters.

[Exits: north (east) west]
A finely crafted iron chair sits here for you to sit in.
A finely crafted wooden chair sits here for you to sit in.
A small oak desk sits in the northwest corner of the room.
Adrian is here.
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls is here.
A wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes is here, floating in the air.
Kaigen, Sage Ecclesiast of the Sands is here.

Adrian says to Kaigen in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'Plague in the center!'
Adrian says in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'To arms! To arms!'
Adrian utters the words, 'word of recall'.
Adrian begins to disappear.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says in common, bemusedly, 'Why is he telling you?'

Kaigen blinks innocently.

a wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes says to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in common, in a lightened, faint voice, 'He does these things on purpose I swear.'

Kaigen says to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Haven't you heard?'

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says to Kaigen in common, ruefully, 'Thank you for being honest, at the very least. You are relieved of your post.'
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls prays for transportation!
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls begins to disappear.

a wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes says in common, in a lightened, faint voice, 'Enjoy.'
A wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes opens the door to the east.
A wrinkled but fair-skinned human male with frost-touched red hair and blue eyes leaves east.

The door to the east closes.

Kaigen opens the door to the east.
Kaigen leaves east.

Corrine tilts her head slightly, arching a slender, crimson brow.

You say in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, '...what, in the name of the Gods, just -happened- here?'

someone thinks to you in common 'Seria is quite mysterious in her workings.'

You think in common '...you're telling me.'
You think in common '...wait. You're -not- my conscience. Were you--'

someone thinks to you in common 'Do you converse with yourself often?'

Corrine grunts as she rubs at the side of her head once more, frowning in slight disorientation.

someone whispers in common to you, in a listless drawl, 'I hear it is a sign of ... madness.'

You think in common '...I'll bet.'
You say in common, smirking slightly as she leans back against the table, 'Fortunately. I am perfectly aware that there exists such folk as those who are able to penetrate thoughts.'

someone thinks to you in common 'It is true. Though it seems we have a visitor.'

You say in common, wrinkling her nose, 'Ch'.'

someone thinks to you in common 'Perhaps she wonders if you are quite all right.'

You say in common, blinking placidly as she speaks, 'I know perfectly well I'm not subconsciously thinking these thoughts. If you're going to come out of hiding, do; otherwise, I'm going to leave.'
You think in common '*with a touch of defiance* My husband may be driven half to senility, but *I* am not quite so aged as of yet.'

Corrine quirks a vague, somewhat grim smile.

You say in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, 'That's not the first time I've heard something like that.'

A dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair looks at someone.

someone says something to a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair in an unknown tongue, thinly, that you cannot understand.

Corrine glances aside towards a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair, before pushing herself off the desk.

a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair says to someone in common, innocently, 'Plague about the city? I wonder how that came about.'

You say to a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair in common, mildly, 'Oh, was -that- why everyone was rushing about?'
You think in common '...oh, great. The -plague-. He -definitely- won't be home tonight, then.'
You think in common 'Of all the men I had to marry, I chose the one to avoid work like the plague; unless it actually -was- the plague.'

A dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair closes his eyes and begins to concentrate.

a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair says to you in common, in a listless drawl, 'He will be home before you know it. And then you can engage in whatever acts of fornication please you the most.'

You say to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, sounding distinctly amused, 'Ah, yes. That'd be fun.'

a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair says to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, in a listless drawl, 'I am being perfectly civil. Best behavior, was it?'

Corrine pauses for a moment; then wrinkles her nose slightly.

You say to a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, 'Though. It can hardly be considered fornication if we're -married-.'
You say in common, brightly, 'Though. Perhaps he -is- home by now.'

a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair says to you in common, in a listless drawl, 'A pleasant romp with an old man then?'

You say to a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair in common, mildly, 'I'd imagine so. If you'll excuse me, then.'

Corrine inclines her head gently towards a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair and a tall, gray-eyed female siriyu with dark hair before turning away.

a dark-skinned siriyu man with tousled white hair says to you in common, waving a hand, 'Go ahead. I am sure he would miss you.'

A pristine white marble fountain is here, decorated with small child water-bearers.
A bench made of wood and wrought iron sits here, with intricate carvings in the wood.
Adrian is here.
(Translucent) a tall male siriyu with emerald eyes and short auburn hair is here.
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls is here.

Adrian beckons a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls to follow him.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to Adrian in an unknown tongue, in a polished Serian accent devoid of harsh consonants, that you cannot understand.

You say in common, sounding distinctly annoyed, 'Where -is- that archaic old horse?!'

Adrian gets a smooth stone from a simple satchel, crafted of shining crimson dragon scales.
Adrian stops using a white staff of protection.
Adrian holds a smooth stone in his hand.
Adrian utters the words, 'portal'.
A shimmering gate rises up from the ground.

A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls whispers in a tall male siriyu with emerald eyes and short auburn hair's ear.

Adrian says to you in common, helpfully, 'There.'

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says something to you in an unknown tongue, mildly, that you cannot understand.
A tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls points at Adrian, looking genuinely bemused.

You say to Adrian in common, flatly, 'There -where-? Up in the clouds?'

Adrian points at a shimmering gate.

a tall male siriyu with emerald eyes and short auburn hair says something to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in an unknown tongue, with an airy, light tone, that you cannot understand.
Adrian says to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in common, in a clear, articulate baritone, 'I think that he was the source of the plague, is all I'm saying.'

Jelann has arrived from the east.
Jelann says something to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in an unknown tongue, in a barely audible whisper, that you cannot understand.

a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls says to you in common, in a polished Serian accent devoid of harsh consonants, 'Kaigen is through the gate, if you hop in it. I merely got confused by which old horse you were talking about.'

You say to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in common, mildly, 'Ah. Well, the -oldest- horse, then. I'll go see if I can't knock some sense into him.'

a tall male siriyu with emerald eyes and short auburn hair says something to a tall, willowy human female with a cloud of inky curls in an unknown tongue, with an airy, light tone, that you cannot understand.

Corrine turns on her heels and strides straight into the gate.

You begin to enter a shimmering gate, sensing it leads to somewhere distinctly else...

Part 3: Corrine reaches the square, and Adrian makes her a gate to Kaigen, where I believe, some of the most beautiful closure RP of old-age in CoM, (for me, at least) has ever happened.

A Bedroom
Here is a medium sized bedroom. The floor, walls, and ceiling are all
made of a fine wood. There is a small window on the west wall. The window
has red curtains, with golden strips. There is a bed on the north wall,
with a rough wooden chest at the end of it. There is a door on the east
wall made of a fine wood.

[Exits: (east)]
A small bed lies here, against the north wall.
A small wooden chest is here, against the foot of the bed.
Kaigen, Sage Ecclesiast of the Sands is here.

Corrine arches a brow towards Kaigen.

You say to Kaigen in common, mildly, 'Busy night?'

Kaigen says to you in common, chuckling, 'You could say that.'

Corrine sighs, glancing about as she looks about the room, then pauses to clasp both hands over her hips.

You say to Kaigen in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, '...what happened?'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'It seems someone finally took some initiative and dismissed me.'

You say to Kaigen in common, grimly, 'Does this mean I get my husband back?'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Well, all of my work as been independent of the Triage anyway. So I haven't really gained any free time from simply leaving Triage.'
Kaigen says to you in common, raising an eyebrow, 'Did you really think I did anything specfic for the Triage?'

Corrine bites down hard, upon her lower lip, taking in several short breaths, before nodding once and turning away.

You say to Kaigen in common, her tone somewhat shaken, '...no, but. I -had- hoped you'd... be... ugh.'

Corrine strides towards the window, leaning into the panes as she gazes down into the streets below.

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'You were hoping I'd beg not to be fired?'

You say to Kaigen in common, turning around, gritting her teeth, 'No! I was hoping you'd be FREE of whatever it is that was keeping you from home so much!'

Corrine makes a loud, angry growl under her breath, then turns around to face the window again.

The sun rises in the east.

You say in common, her tone quieter, yet still bitter, 'What do *I* care if the Triage dismisses you? I've long since lost all respect for its leaders when they dismissed -me- on grounds of having a child!'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'It took that long for you, huh?'
Kaigen closes his eyes and covers his mouth with his hand, snickering zealously.

You say to Kaigen in common, tensely, 'It's not funny, Kaigen. We're all pawns, at the end of the day. We've given our youth to this city; and for what? It's all still a pile of ruin.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Which is why I always took the time to enjoy it. '
Kaigen says in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Though I am easily amused.'

You say to Kaigen in common, in a low, quiet mutter, 'Then you're the wiser of us both.'

Kaigen closes his eyes and covers his mouth with his hand, snickering zealously.
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Though certainly not the more intelligent.'

Corrine exhales with an air of exasperation as she turns to face Kaigen, brushing silver-tinged locks from her eyes.

You say to Kaigen in common, quietly, '-Nothing- bothers you, does it?'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'Should it?'

You say to Kaigen in common, sighing, '...I just wish... I wish--ugh!'

Corrine throws her hands up into the air, turning once more towards the window, the wisps of wind blowing her hair over her shoulder.

Kaigen walks over to you, following you gaze out the window and placing his hand on you shoulder.
Kaigen says to you in common, reassuringly, 'You know how I feel, Corrine. Life is far too short to spend every moment stressing over it.'
Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'Especially at my age.'

Corrine glances aside towards Kaigen, hazel orbs slightly obscured beneath half-lidded eyes.

You say to Kaigen in common, murmuring, '...before you go on that -next- stage of life, Kaigen.'

Corrine sighs once, lowering her eyes, before lifting them to meet Kaigen's again.

Kaigen says to you in common, shaking his head, 'Aren't you listening? Life is much to short to be stressing over everything, even it's end.'

You say to Kaigen in common, quietly, '...yes, but -before- you do, could you -please- try to spend more time with Eidan, and me? He misses his father, and I miss my best friend.'

Kaigen smiles at you, lifting his hand from you shoulder to gently ruffle you hair.
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Well, as long as I'm not part of Triage, I guess I won't feel guilty about spending large portions of time away from it. Despite what I told the Queen, I did give Seria a sort of special treatment.'
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'And I suppose I can do most of my experiments from home.'

You say to Kaigen in common, crooking the faintest of smiles, '...like you didn't spend most of your time in the clouds, as opposed to doing -actual- work. But please tell me you haven't been sentenced to the stocks, or to death?'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'No, I merely gave the Queen the impression that I was taking advantage of my position in Triage by getting payed to do nothing. To be honest though, no one ever told me what I should be doing so I just did what I always did.'

You say to Kaigen in common, sighing, '...you did more for the Triage than most of them give you credit for. All that healing, and all those young clerics you trained.'

Corrine pauses a moment, brushing her hair from her eyes as she fixes them upon Kaigen.

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'Unfortunately I was much to proud to admit any of that. '

You say to Kaigen in common, crooking a weak smile, '...and so you'd go down in Triage history as the vagabond cleric.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'And, to be clear, I trained those healers because they were healers and I healed those people because they needed healing. Never did I do any of it specificallt for Triage.'
Kaigen says to you in common, smiling, 'Do you think I would want it any other way?'

You say to Kaigen in common, chuckling softly, '...no. Then again, I'm down in Triage history as the 'Demoted Grand-Wizardess who dropped out due to pregnancy', so...'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Like two peas in a pod.'

Corrine turns to face Kaigen fully, darkened eyes studying Kaigen's lined face in quiet complacence as her fingers trace the crevices of his lips.

You say to Kaigen in common, quietly, '...Eighteen years of marriage, Kaigen. I can't say they were all perfect; but I wouldnt've had them any other way.'

Kaigen says to you in common, smiling, 'Well, I probably could have done without all the Gods of Evil plaguing the earth and severing my spirit from its body, but I can't complain about the marriage itself.'
Kaigen says to you in common, rubbing his chin, 'and hasn't it only been seventeen years?........When did we get married again?'

You say to Kaigen in common, smiling somewhat crooked-ly in response, 'Eighteen years ago, hon. -Eidan- was born seventeen years ago.'

You say to Kaigen in common, quietly, '...my point is. I love you. I did then, and I still do, now.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Well, I guess I was counting something right.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'And I love you, Corrine. Since the day...well, since the day you told me you loved me.'
Kaigen says to you in common, rubbing the back of his neck, 'Man was that ever a crazy day.'

You say to Kaigen in common, sounding distinctly amused, 'Mind-mages, sentimental gorusiriyus, necromantic mistresses, and talking hawks.'

Corrine leans closer towards Kaigen, taking Kaigen's hands in her own and squeezing, gently.

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Things made a lot more sense back then.'

You say to Kaigen in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, '...they make enough sense to me -now-.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Really? I guess I just stopped trying to understand.'
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Like, who in the world is Ayechaela? I never even heard of her and all of the sudden she's Queen.'

You say to Kaigen in common, smiling briefly, '...Adrian took over after Sehlk, and Ayechaela is his wife. That's about as simple as it gets.'

Kaigen says to you in common, rubbing his chin, 'Though she seemed to have at least a vague idea of who I was.'

You say to Kaigen in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, '...your reputation precedes you.'

Kaigen says to you in common, shaking his head, 'Honestly, I don't understand how anyone can have such bad taste in women. '

You say to Kaigen in common, grinning, 'Just because -you- chose the right one doesn't mean everyone else has the common sense to.'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning widely, 'What are the chances though? None of his wives ever seem to appreciate my humor.'

You say to Kaigen in common, laughing outright, now, '...because most of the time, -they- are the objects of your mirth.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'As a wise man once said, "If you can't laugh at yourself, then everyone else will."'

You say to Kaigen in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, 'I don't believe that's how the saying went, but... yours isn't all that bad, either.'

Corrine allows the faintest of grins to touch her lips.

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'There's that smile I love to see. With that, I think my work here is done. There are many more somber faces I must attend to.'

You say to Kaigen in common, arching a crimson brow, '...you're not coming -home-?'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning widely, 'Well, Eidan's is one of them, isn't it?'

Corrine watches Kaigen for a moment or two, before her lips curl out into a wide, and genuine smile.

You say to Kaigen in common, reaching out to take his hand, '...well then.'

Kaigen grasps your hand firmly.

Corrine squeezes gently at Kaigen's hand, lifting it up to her lips to kiss it gently.

You say to Kaigen in common, every syllable a dreamy melody, 'Let's go home.'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Lead the way.'

(*end transmission*)

*sniffles* Kaigen and Corrine. Rest in peace.
